1) What is Play Therapy?
The Association for Play Therapy (APT) defines play therapy as “the systematic use of a theoretical model to establish an interpersonal process wherein trained play therapists use the therapeutic powers of play to help clients prevent or resolve psychosocial difficulties and achieve optimal growth and development.
Overall, play therapy is a powerful tool for helping children overcome emotional, behavioral, and mental health challenges. It provides a safe and supportive environment for children to express themselves and explore their thoughts and feelings, and can help children develop the skills and strategies they need to thrive.
2) Do you accept insurance?
Yes. I accept the following insurances:

*If I am an out-of-network provider with your insurance, I can provide a superbill which is an itemized receipt of services. You can then submit that to your insurance to potentially get reimbursed.
3) Who can benefit from play therapy?
Play therapy can benefit children of all ages who are experiencing emotional, behavioral, or social difficulties. Play therapy is also helpful for children who have difficulty expressing themselves verbally or who have difficulty with social skills.
4) What issues can be addressed in play therapy?
As a registered play therapist I can assist children with many concerns such as anger, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, self-esteem, Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, and more.
5) How do I know if we are a good fit?
It is so important that you feel like your therapist is a good fit for you. I am happy to offer a free 15 min phone call to "meet" each other and see if we would be a good fit.
6) What are your private pay/Out of Netowork rates?
Intake Session (60 minutes) - $160
Follow up sessions (50 minutes)- $150
7) Where are you located?
2040 Babcock Rd, Ste 303, San Antonio, TX 78229. I also provide services to children and families throughout the state of Texas via a secure telehealth platform.
8) What is your cancellation policy?
We have a 24-hour cancellation policy. Should you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please do so within 24 hours of your appointment time to avoid a late cancellation or no show charge. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours notice will be charged the full rate of the session. You can contact our office by email, text, or phone to cancel or reschedule a session.
9) What is a Registered Play Therapist?
The practice of play therapy requires extensive specialized education, training, and experience. A play therapist is a licensed mental health professional that has earned a Master’s or Doctorate degree in a mental health field with considerable general clinical experience and supervision. With advanced, specialized training, experience, and supervision, mental health professionals may also earn the Registered Play Therapist (RPT) conferred by the Association for Play Therapy (APT).
